Dutch Ophthalmic Research Center (D.O.R.C.) is a Netherlands-based ophthalmic company providing a wide range of instruments, equipment, surgical systems, retinal stains and innovations for use in ophthalmic surgery. Seeking an agency with expertise in ophthalmic brand development and marketing, DORC engaged with Maricich Health to prepare for launch of its breakthrough new EVA NEXUSTM vitreoretinal surgical system. The platform is an exponential evolution of the original EVA surgical system, featuring highly efficient dual-mode fluidics that enable surgeons to operate with maximum control during retinal or cataract surgeries. The launch timing coincided with major ophthalmic conferences and events. Maricich Health was determined to increase the marketing presence for EVA NEXUS by creating a high-impact campaign that moved DORC’s important new product launch initiatives forward.
Maricich Health collaborated with key DORC stakeholders to identify core differentiating insights supporting the development of the resulting brand position and launch campaign for EVA NEXUS. Since the new surgical system is built on a breakthrough smart technology platform that enhances surgical experience and performance for surgeons, we claimed a unique positioning for EVA NEXUS as “The Future of Ophthalmic Surgery.” Creative concepts were inspired by the definition of the word “nexus” as a connector, illustrating how EVA NEXUS unites or connects Inspiration & Innovation, Technology & Technique, and System & Surgeon. Maricich Health developed the EVA NEXUS go-to-market campaign, brand messaging platform and style guide, along with a tactical plan, trade media recommendations and trade show graphics for the product launch. DORC was recently acquired by Zeiss for $1 billion.
